We would like to share valuable information on the advancements being made in FRP Anchorage to concrete.

This anchor system was rigorously tested at the University of Miami and Polytechnic University of Milan in a wide range of Test Reportcircumstance and conditions. Read more by downloading this condensed report from University of Miami. - Certified Test Report -

This is a new type of anchorage system, called "staple" anchor as a means of anchoring externally bonded fiber-reinforced polymers (FcRP) sheets into concrete. The staple anchors are designed in two different types: flat and round staples. Both the types of anchors are provided as prefabricated elements formed by strands of carbon fibers that are inserting into epoxy filled holes in the concrete, and an external part that is also impregnated and connected eternally to the bonded FRP laminate. They appear in different shapes and sizes and they also have different processes of installation, but they share the same aim: enhance the bond of externally bonded FRP laminates into concrete.

The staple system was rigorously tested at the University of Miami in a variety of configurations and conditions. You can download a copy of all of the test data and results along with our product information sheet by clicking on the image above.

Fortec Stabilization Systems, LLC Carbon Fiber Anchors

Carbon Anchor
Carbon Anchor

can be used where columns meet walls, joints at ceilings and where added

bond strength is required and can eliminate the need for multiple carbon layers. Ideal for overhead applications.

Multiple anchors can be used along the length of carbon fiber tows to improve bond strength to the cemetitious substrate as much as 80%.

Used for externally bonded FRP laminates for the consolidation and retrofitting of reinforced concrete structures.

Can be finished with parge coats, brick over lays or painting to improve aesthetics.

Advantages

  • Low profile and can be installed behind brick facade or other building facades.
  • Legs or overlaps can be added to extend loads Parge coats and painting can be used for aesthetics
  • Installs in same fashion as straight carbon plate or grids
  • Reduces or illuminates contractor error in bending FRP to far to carry load
